CLAUDIA BÉLAND
R.N., D.O.
Registered nurse, osteopathic practitioner, speaker, teacher in women's health osteopathy
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a manual therapeutic approach focused in restoring the function of bodily structures to promote the balance of the body. It is based on a deep understanding of health sciences, particularly the interactions between the systems of the human body.
Inclusive care
My care is inclusive and tailored to everyone, regardless of gender, identity, or background. Everyone is welcome.
The advantage of an osteopathic practitioner who is also a registered nurse
As a registered nurse, I bring a solid understanding of medical issues and conventional care approaches. As an osteopathic practitioner, I use gentle and personalized techniques to promote balance and overall well-being. All of this ensures safe support.
Claudia Béland
Registered Nurse and Osteopathic Practitioner
I offer a unique and holistic approach to address the specific needs of individuals at every stage of their life. By combining my skills as a registered nurse and an osteopathic practitioner, I provide comprehensive care that takes into account both the physical, emotional, and hormonal aspects of health.
My Services
Women's Fertility
Osteopathy can be a helpful complement in a fertility process by supporting the overall health of the body and facilitating an environment conducive to conception. Regardless of the process underway, I support you in promoting the balance of the pelvic region and your body.
Perinatal care
Osteopathy can be a valuable ally during pregnancy by relieving physical discomfort and improving the overall well-being of the expectant mother. During this period, the body undergoes many changes, both hormonal and physical, which can lead to pain, tension, and discomfort. Osteopathy, with its gentle and tailored techniques, aims to support the pregnant woman throughout her pregnancy and can play a key role in preparing for childbirth by promoting the mobility of the pelvis and optimizing the baby's positioning.
Since reproductive health is shared 50% between both partners, men must also be considered in the fertility process. Osteopathy can play a supportive role in the fertility process for men by addressing several physical and physiological aspects that can influence reproductive health.
The position of the baby in the uterus at the end of pregnancy can lead to tension. Additionally, during childbirth, whether vaginal or cesarean, the baby may experience significant physical constraints. These tensions can be caused by forces exerted on the head, neck, back, or other parts of the body during labor and delivery. Osteopathy for newborns aims to relieve tension and promote the proper physical development of the baby.
Osteopathy can play a valuable role in supporting women with endometriosis by offering a gentle and complementary approach aimed at relieving symptoms and improving their quality of life. For example, the objective of the osteopathic practitioner is to restore the mobility of pelvic organs affected by adhesions caused by endometriosis through specific manual techniques.
1. Uterine fibroids
2. Dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain)
3. Painful bladder syndrome (PBS)
4. Global and personalized approach
Several other reasons for consultation can be addressed with osteopathy. I frequently see clients with musculoskeletal pain, urinary disorders, pelvic organ prolapse, hormonal disorders, digestive issues, hormonal migraines or other types of migraines, neuralgia, hormonal imbalances, etc.
